VERDURA RESORT, A ROCCO FORTE HOTEL, WINS SUSTAINABILITY AWARD

VERDURA-02Ivan Artolli, Group Operations Director for Rocco Forte Hotels and Managing Director of Verdura Resort, Sciacca, has been awarded the EHMA corporate social responsibility prize. This exclusive award is dedicated to General Managers who succeeded in implementing and promoting sustainable hospitality actions by means of environmental protection and preservation.

Verdura Resort’s initiatives are considered to be one of the most holistic and significant sustainability programs established in the hospitality industry. “We were impressed by the resort’s holistic and structured approach focused on any aspect of the integrated bottom line concept including environmental features like energy savings, social corporate responsibility, staff training and development, guest involvement, and social media activities” commented the jury.

The jury for the award was composed of EHMA’s Treasurer Johanna Fragano; Dr. Ing. Arjan van Rheede, Hotelschool The Hague; and Dr. Ed Roberts, Regional Sustainability Director at Diversey Care.Every year the EHMA Sustainability Award is organized in cooperation with Sealed Air by Diversey Care. The fifth edition ceremony was held last 10th April, during the EHMA annual General Meeting in Limassol (Cyprus), that brought together 450 top hotel managers from 28 European countries.
